Your business is a reflection of you
Each day, I spend time searching for ideas to help small business owners with their marketing and then I share the ideas with you here, on the Cup of Jo blog. This morning I want to talk about something off subject. Starting and operating your own small business can be the most rewarding journey you ever take and also the most difficult. There will be times when frustration sets in and you wish there was just some magical, easy way to tell everyone in the world how great your product or service is. This is when keeping a positive outlook is imperative.
As a small business owner, if you are frustrated, grumpy or sad, it reflects on your business. This is because you are the face of your business. In today’s extremely social environment, this fact makes putting forth your happy face even more important. So, to help you, I want to recommend a strategy that has worked for me. Start each day reading something positive. For some of you, this may be reading scripture or a devotional book. For others, you may already have a favorite quote book or blog that you read. In addition to what you may already be doing, I want to recommend a resource I came across a few months ago. It’s called Marc and Angel hack life. It’s a blog that has been around for many years and is written by a couple who have quite possibly the most positive outlook I’ve ever seen. Take a look and sign up to receive the blog via email. Add it to your morning “To Do” list. You’ll be glad you did.
The most important key to your success is staying focused and determined. Have faith in yourself and don’t be afraid to reach out to your network. Why not start right now. Steal away for a cup of coffee and please let me know if I can help you in any way.
